January message from Principal Deinhardt

Letter: Regents Week Testing and Inclement Weather
Posted on 01/22/2024
TestDear Parent(s) or Guardian(s),

I hope this letter finds you well. As we enter Regents Week at the high school, it is important for us to be prepared for potential weather-related delays that may impact our schedule. In the event of a 1 or 2-hour delay, I would like to communicate important information regarding the start times for morning Regents exams.

If there is a delay, we will begin the morning Regents exams based on the time students arrive at the building. This approach ensures that all students have an equitable opportunity to start their exams, taking into consideration any delays in transportation or other factors. The afternoon exam start times will remain unchanged and will commence at 12:00 p.m. as originally scheduled.

In the unfortunate event that school is closed, we want to assure you that we will promptly communicate with the State Education Department to determine when the affected exams will be re-administered. The safety and well-being of our students are of utmost importance, and we will work diligently to ensure that any disruptions do not adversely impact their academic progress.

We understand the importance of the Regents exams in the academic journey of our students, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation in these situations. Please stay informed through our communication channels, including the school website, JC app, and school email, for the most up-to-date information regarding any delays or closures.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

Sincerely,
Fred W. Deinhardt
Principal, Johnson City High School
