Johnson City Board of Education member Rocky Martinez has been volunteering his time to work with Michelle Zakrajsek's 4th-grade class. He has shared lessons developed by the Greater Binghamton Chamber Leadership Alliance on what it takes to be an entrepreneur.
The class has spent time talking about needs vs. wants, profits, products, and goods and services in our economy. Mr. Martinez has led discussions that have sparked questions on what it takes to be an entrepreneur, including taking resources and making them better and using skills and innovation to come up with new products and ideas.
Today's lesson focused on STEM and creating and building airplanes. Thank you, Mr. Martinez, for spending time with our class and motivating us to ask questions, be creative and envision the future!
