April 22 statement from JC Schools
Posted on 04/22/2024
campusOn Saturday, April 20, a male parent from another school district caused a disturbance at a Johnson City track meet. As a result of the individual's inappropriate behavior, he was detained by coaches who were at the meet until JC Police arrived and took the individual into custody. The individual was removed from the school property without further incident. We apologize this took place at a school event where students and their families were gathered to cheer on and support athletes. We are extremely grateful to the coaches who assisted in detaining the individual and for the quick response from the Johnson City Police Department in handling the situation.
