Day of the DeadOn November 1, Mrs. Bedrin’s high school Spanish 4 students presented “ofrendas,” colorful altars or offerings that play a central part in the Mexican celebration of “Dia de los Muertos,” or the Day of the Dead. Day of the Dead is celebrated annually on November 1-2 across Mexico and is a festival aimed at honoring the deceased on the date when their souls are believed to return to Earth. The JC students’ ofrendas honored Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and deceased American actor Cameron Boyce. Each student spoke about their project in Spanish to invited guests as part of their presentation. Well done!
