Nate Luce's 6th-grade science students are finishing up their study of ways we can reduce our carbon footprint. The unit focuses on how changes in the Earth's system, from droughts and floods to pollution and greenhouse gases, impact our communities.
This week, 80 students received Smart Energy Kits along with a student guide and take-home workbook courtesy of NYSEG. Each kit included an energy-efficient showerhead, a water-reducing faucet attachment, a power strip for electric appliances, a window insulation strip, a door sweep, a digital thermometer, and a window insulating kit.
