To apply for a Substitute position, the following documentation needs to be provided:

|
a) Completed Instructional Application, and Addendum if needed. It is not necessary to complete a statement of philosophy for substituting, unless you are submitting the application for a permanent position as well.
|
|
b) Official college transcript(s) (if applicable), which reflects degree conferral. This may be hand-delivered in its original SEALED envelope from the college, or sent directly from the college to our office by mail or via email to Kristina MacDonald (see contact information below). |

c) 1 letter of reference with original signature.
|
|
d) Copy of your teaching certificate(s), if you are certified.
|
|
e) We will check for your fingerprint clearance. (See the fingerprint procedure attachment below) (fee paid by applicant)

f) Absence Management Form. (below)

Once we have your application, transcript(s), credentials/letters, certificate(s) if supplying, fingerprint clearance and Absence Management Form, you will be contacted for a brief 15-minute virtual interview.

Once the virtual interview is complete, you may be offered a Substitute position, pending Board of Education approval. You will be called to set up an appointment to complete the following items: |
|
a) Homeland Security form (I-9) for which you will need to bring acceptable unexpired documentation. (no copies)
(see attached)

|
b) Federal and State tax forms.
|
|
c) Miscellaneous district paperwork as required.
|
|
d) At that time, you will be given a substitute packet, additional hiring instructions and required materials.
|

e) Our offices are located in the Johnson City High School building; come in through the high school main entrance and sign in, then receive directions to Room 166.

Approval by the Board of Education is done during their meetings, held roughly twice per month. Once the Board has made their decision, you will be notified.
